This Taurus Full Moon follows after a Scorpio New Moon, where the main theme was “review and renew,” taking emotional + physical stock of where we were at in life, and beginning to move accordingly.
Continuing that theme, we started this full moon reading with the Hanged Man, pointing to shifts in perspective, taking a pause, reevaluating things, and the sense of our rose colored glasses coming off.
This may hit harder collectively for those of us in the United States, following the most recent election. There may be a sense of surprise at the results, and being forced to face the truth of where we are at as a country.
On a more personal side of things, this may be situations where you are attempting to see someone else’s perspective, but you and this person can’t find common ground. The 5 of Swords (rv) peeped through the bottom, pointing to this being a losing battle, probably one that you’ve been trying to dig at for a while.
The 7 of Cups (rv) followed, pointing more to the confusion and misunderstandings. I feel that there is a lot of opposition that is adding to this confusion, leaving you feeling hazy and unsure of what steps to take next.
I feel intuition is loud right now, but we may be doubting it as it is telling us one thing but our external reality is showing another. I believe there is a message here to continue to listen to your intuition anyway— there is always more happening beneath the surface that isn’t always immediately clear to us.
The Ace of Cups (rv), the Page of Cups, along with the 9 of Cups appeared, and I feel this is pointing to areas in your life you are feeling some inspiration that is being tainted by guilt/shame/resistance. There are ideas bubbling inside you that you may feel ashamed to pursue given the collective state of things.
It may feel as if feeling happy or excited about something is “wrong” at this time, but the 6 of Pentacles (rv) reminds us that we cannot pour from an empty cup. It is beautiful to want to help others, or fight for your community, but it does not need to be your ONLY focus at this time. You need to make sure you make time to recharge yourself, have a little fun, decompress, and tend to your creativity.
This is a time to be aware, sure, but this is also a time to be creative and to help build a new vision for the future. We are complex beings, we can hold space for multiple truths at once. We can grieve the state of things, while also making room for love and joy.
There is also a sense of waking up for some people, and illusions falling… where some people who may have been happy about the election results may be getting a wake up call and seeing things a bit differently as things continue to unfold.
The 4 of Wands came out along with the Tower (rv): this is the time to let things fall apart, let the tower crumble, let the structures around us fall so that we can have the opportunity to rebuild them in a more aligned + harmonious way. We do not need to shut the world out and make enemies now (this doesn’t mean you need to let these people in your life!), but try to put your attention towards what it is we want to work on.
There is also a reminder that your rage is sacred, and to allow it to fuel your action. With the 4 of Pentacles (rv) coming out here, I feel we are putting up walls and shutting everything and everyone out. We are being stingy with our time/money/energy— I do feel we should be cautious with our money right now— but we need to find a balance with our relationships.
If there are people you need to cut off, then do so, but if there are people you feel you can find enough common ground to keep a surface level connection with, then do that. Not every single relationship in our lives needs to be deep and meaningful. If it will give you some more peace to remain connected to unaligned family/friends on a surface level, then I do not see anything wrong with that. But be sure you’re being honest with yourself on whether or not you want this, or if you are harboring a secret hope that they will change.
Finally, we have the 8 of Pentacles (rv). I know we are tired, I know we want results, but we must have patience. We must continue chipping away at the bigger picture. I know it’s hard to feel like we aren’t getting anywhere, but big change takes time. This connects with that message earlier about our intuition not seeming to be right— we are making more progress than we think, we just cannot see it yet. Don’t be too hasty or impulsive to throw it all away now. There is a rebalancing going on in our personal lives and on a collective level.
The biggest takeaway from this reading is to continue taking care of yourself and the people you love. Continue to pour into your connections and your passions, while holding onto that sense of justice. How will you take action in the future if you drain all your hope and energy out now? There is hope, and there are things that we cannot see yet.
